Received dating. Material on this tape includes the master take of “Crazy Fingers,” dated as June 4th on the tracking sheet; that, along with much of what came to us with this date, has been moved to other sessions due to context clues and other info like the tracking sheet.
The most likely truth is that the tape dated “6.03” was recorded on this date from a pastiche of previously recorded material. Most of what was received with this date has been positively identified as belonging to other sessions and moved. The remaining tracks do not duplicate any with better date provenance, and thus we are leaving them with this assigned date as a provisional value.
Franklin's Tower, Proto-Fire Jam and Orpheus share the same mix and personnel (Ned on keys), while EAC Jam has a different mix and features Keith on keys. Thus they are unlikely to all be from the same session; but we don’t have any affirmative data to move either one.
