Date unconfirmed, but likely. Dennis McNally dated the start of the American Beauty sessions as August 6th based on a dated tape reel in the band's vault, which would seem likely to be the band's first album demos, made with engineer Phill Sawyer two days after recusing themselves (but not their crew) from the Medicine Ball Caravan tour.
Beyond the August 6th tape, the 9th and 12th are the only confirmed dates for the scrapped American Beauty sessions with engineer Phill Sawyer at Pacific High, but it seems likely that sessions at least continued during the intervening days, and possibly a day or two after.
